Halloween Compromise in the Church

“1I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.” II Timothy 4: 1 – 5 (NKJV).

Despite all of the evidence and eye-witness testimony of what occurs on Halloween night, many Churches still compromise the truth. This is not a judgment but an acknowledgment of where the Church has come to be. Scripturally we are fulfilling Paul’s warning in his Second Letter to Timothy that sound doctrine will not be endured. Little things like celebrating Halloween are just signs that Paul’s warning was in the Spirit and a prophecy from God.

The Church is still struggling to hold on to Biblical truths. Gimmicks and man’s methods of reaching people extend far and wide into the Church world. There is no reliance upon the Holy Spirit to draw all men unto Christ. Could this be a contributing factor to the lack of change that occurs in someone’s life who has come to the altar and repeated a cookie cutter salvation prayer? The Church is still not desperate for God, His holiness, and His love.

As long as we have this line of reasoning, we will be surrounded by spiritually weak Christians who will not be able to fight the enemy when he comes around. So many Churches are crying out for “Revival” but these Churches are holding “Harvest Festivals” and “Alternative Halloween Celebrations” which in reality are a compromised version of the real thing. The Church is continuing to send mixed messages to the Church and the world. The real message behind these alternatives is that we really want to participate in the things of the world. There has to be a separation between the Church and the World.

17 Therefore: “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.” II Corinthians 6: 17 (NKJV).

Remnant its important that we understand the bigger picture of what is going on in the Church. We need this discernment to understand be in line with the Holy Spirit when He reveals the true nature of those that we are surrounded by. We can no longer assume that everyone in the Church is on the same page. We can no longer assume that everyone in our immediate circle is on the same page. The enemy is fighting us and his purpose to divide us. Compromise is the enemy’s best tool to weaken the anointing in the Church. During this Halloween season remember the truth of the Gospel and commit to follow it wholeheartedly . Selah!
