Delaware State Primary – September 15, 2020 Explanation: A primary is the process by which each party narrows the candidates for an elected office (Governor, Lt. Governor, Treasurer, etc.) to a single candidate. The citizens in their respective voting district vote to elect the candidate of their choosing. These primary votes are extremely important. Why? Saves room on the ballot, cuts down on voter confusion, and speeds up the election process.
Delaware’s State Primary will be held on September 15, 2020. For the Democrat Party there are two people who are running for Governor in Delaware.
1. Governor Carney – (Incumbent=is doing the job right now) 2. David Lamar Williams Jr.
Those who are Democrats will go to their polling place and choose either Carney or Williams. The winner of this election will be placed on the November 3, 2020 ballot against candidate/s from the other parties that are represented.
For the Republican Party there are 6 people who are running for Governor in Delaware.
1. Colin Bonini 2. David Joseph Bosco 3. Dave Graham 4. Julianne E Murray 5. Bryant L. Richardson 6. R. E. Scott Walker
Those who are Republicans will go to their polling place and choose one of the six candidates. The winner of this election will be placed on the November 3, 2020 ballot against candidate/s from the other parties that are represented.
