A Time for Silence

Ecclesiastes 3: 1, 7 (NKJV); “To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: 7. A time to tear, and a time to sew; A time to keep silence, and a time to speak”

There are going to be times in your life where you will have nothing to say. Do not be embarrassed by this. Don’t miss the beauty of those silent moments in your life. Learn to embrace this time of silence where the Lord has you quiet.

Many people miss the opportunity to gain God's presence during these periods of silence. Often times God is silent Himself. It does not necessarily mean that anything is wrong. He is working things out on your behalf. You must not give in to fear or panic. And you must surrender all you are to God. As you do this you will find yourself walking in a deeper level of peace.

Often silence is needed to break down walls and barriers in the Spirit realm. You must not be afraid to be silent. You must allow this anointing to be apart of the arsenal that God has given you. It is necessary for you to understand what scripture says about silence. For example, when the Children of Israel were told to walk around the walls of Jericho, they were commanded to be silent.

“Now Joshua had commanded the people, saying, “You shall not shout or make any noise with your voice, nor shall a word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I say to you, ‘Shout!’ Then you shall shout.”” Joshua 6: 10 (NKJV)

Many Christians today cannot endure being in a place of silence. This is something that is very important. It’s in this silence you learn to walk as Jesus did. Jesus was a man who was quiet, keep to Himself and he didn’t need to have a whole bunch of clamor around Him. Many people today have to have some type of clatter or noise going on in their spiritual backgrounds. They are missing opportunities to live in a deeper place of intimacy with the Father.

At times our many words are just that, many words. Our words don't come from the heart. It would be better for you to be silent than running off at the mouth. More often than not, our words are just space fillers. Meaningless. Something to fill the awkwardness of the silence we feel. As you move to deeper realms you will experience the silence more often. Again, do not be afraid. The Lord has promised to never leave us or forsake us even in these periods of silence He is right there by our side. Remember there is always a time silence. Selah.
